Characteristics of pure nickel metal
2026-10-14
Pure nickel metal is a metal material that combines excellent corrosion resistance, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and excellent processing performance. Its density is about 8.9 g/cm ³, melting point is about 1455 ℃, and it has good strength and toughness at room temperature. It can be forged, rolled, and drawn, and is also suitable for CNC turning, milling, and threading.
Pure nickel exhibits good corrosion resistance in atmospheric, freshwater, alkaline solutions, and some reducing media, especially with strong adaptability to alkaline environments. Meanwhile, it has good conductivity and thermal conductivity, low magnetic properties, and high surface stability. It is commonly used in fields such as electronic components, battery materials, chemical equipment, vacuum devices, fasteners, and precision parts.
It should be noted that the hardness of pure nickel is not particularly high, and its wear resistance is average; In environments containing sulfur, strong oxidizing acids, or high-temperature oxidation, its corrosion resistance will be affected. If higher strength or more special corrosion resistance is required, nickel alloy materials are usually chosen.
